Happy April 1st to ALL!!! Today is one that I enjoy immensely. I look forward to this day all year long. I've even got my children into it and loving it!!!
Last night Lulee and I were so excited that this morning was going to be April Fools Day we could hardly stand it. We sat on the couch together snickering as we devised our plan of attack on Daddy. We had several ideas, but she didn't understand what it meant to prank at first. Then all the sudden the plan evolved and yes, it was a good one and we were positive it was going to work. I told her that we MUST do it early enough that he is still half asleep so he would fall for it for sure, because he is just as big of a prankster on this beloved day as I am. :)
This morning, I woke little Lulee up, I whispered in her ear "It's April Fools Day, it's time to get Daddy." Her little eyes still trying to adjust to the light, looked up at me and there it was "the look". She has it, the love for pranks and tricks!!!! This passion for tricks and fun was passed down from my Grandaddy, who loved to pull pranks and joke around all the time. I inherited the fun provoking nature as well. Thank you Grandaddy, you provided many fun times!!!
Ryan reminds me of you with the joking nature a lot. We are two peas in a pod when it comes to that stuff. We love it and we always try to top one another. You would have loved him. And you would have definitely loved the great grandkids and what little Lulee, in particular, had up her sleeve for this a.m.
Lulee, in her excitement, rolled out of bed, and the plan starts......she goes to her room and starts screaming bloody murder "DADDY......DADDY......AHHHHHHHH.........COME HERE DADDY......!!!!!!"
Dang, Daddy is a deeper sleeper than I thought!!! So on to "plan B".....I come in our bedroom all frantic and freaking out....."RYAN......GET UP, HURRY, GET UP......THERE'S A MOUSE....GET UP NOW...IT'S IN LULEE'S ROOM!!!!" That got him up....he was stumbling all over the place unsure if he should put in his contacts or glasses to take care of this mouse.
He went in to Lulee's room and told us to stay back and asked me where it was. I told him "IT'S UNDER THE CRIB.....HURRY!!!!", as he bends over to look, I say "APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!" He smiled, Lulee smiled and we high fived each other and she was so proud of herself. Our plan worked....then we proceeded to make our phone calls to trick other family members that we knew would be up early.
She did get a little confused and concerned this morning, however, she asked me "Mommy, isn't that lying?" I told her not on April Fools day....that is the day for pranks. So sweet and innocent. So I then took her to preschool and she pulled the prank on her teacher. I have a feeling it's not over yet and won't be until we go to bed.
Oh April Fools Day, how I love thee!!! Let me count the ways!!!! :)
