"This Page Is Reserved"
This reminds me of High School when you have that special friend or boyfriend that you want to sign a page in your yearbook and you mark it "RESERVED" so that everyone knows it's for someone special in your life. No one else is supposed to write on it. The whole page is solely dedicated for that one person. Well this page is "RESERVED" for one of the most special people in mine and my family's life. We are such good friends. She's not only one of my besties, she's way more than that, she is family. She is "Aunt" Jolie.
This is where it is a little different than the yearbook days, she won't be writing on the "RESERVED" page. This page will be written by me as a dedication to her. To let her know how much she truly means to all of us. She has been in our lives since our oldest, Sadie Bug, who is now 16, was 5 years old. She has hung out with me and been there for me through thick and thin. She's spent the night several times with us, waking up to a 5 year old asking her if she wanted some cheese eggs. She has been with me through the worst of relationships and now as I'm in a marriage that I wouldn't trade for the world. I've been there for her through some doozies too.
"Aunt" Jolie just had her 40th birthday that we got to celebrate with her and some friends. I remember being there for her 30th and I plan on being there for her 50th, 60th and so on. Like I said she is more than a friend, she is family. She is 40 years old and has recently gotten engaged for the first time. Neither she or her fiance have any children, except the two awesome nephews that she likes to claim as her own. ;).
So many people would question her over and over, why being her age that she had never been married or engaged before. The answer is, she is extremely selective and didn't settle. She waited for the right one. She is a great person and believe me that opinion is unanimous. My family, even extended all agree. God placed her in the right place at the right time. Good things come to those who wait. Her nephew played cupid this go around. He sure knows his Aunt Jolie. :)))
I am so honored to have been asked to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I am looking forward to the day. We all are so extremely happy for her and her fiance, Greg, whom I've known since we were younger at a church we used to go to together. She has a great guy in her life and he is a lucky one, because he's got the "bestest" girl around. :)))
The newly engaged couple have been engaged for a little over a week. He asked her in a "storybook" way. He did so good. Our "Aunt" Jolie deserves nothing, but the best and that is what he gave her. A ride in a horse-drawn carriage around a gorgeous park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. After their ride, he got down on one knee and proposed, but the clincher..........he asked her Dad for her hand in marriage beforehand. So sweet, such a gentleman. I feel this guy is a keeper for our sweet "Aunt" Jolie. So happy for both of them. :)))
This lady and her daughter saw the whole thing and got so excited and started taking pictures. She was able to catch it all and they turned out great. She emailed them to Jolie as she promised she would.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
I love St. Paddy's Day!!! The rivers getting dyed green in some places, the FUNtivities happening all over. Especially witnessing the amazing sea of green from everyone's clothing everywhere you go. It's a well known thing, if you don't wear green you will surely get pinched. It's so fun coordinating clothing for a family of five for holidays to have fun celebrating.
Last year we went to an outdoor mall and they had dyed their lake green. We wore our coordinating shirts...Me and Hubby wore matching shirts that said "Hooligans" written on them with a four leaf clover and our three girls wore matching shirts that said "Little Hooligans up to Shenanigans Again." I made matching hairbows with shamrocks on them for Lulee then 4 and Brynlea then 1, Sadie then 15, wore a shamrock ribbon headband....sooo cute. We walked through there and took a lot of pics, participated in activities...hula hoops, got animal shaped balloons made and all sorts of things. So fun!!!
This year we invited my side of the family over to our house for some FUNtivities. We started out with a cook out. We even had a special guest, Sadie Bug's friend Donny, who is also a redhead. :))) So including myself we had three redheads over today. My Grandmother, myself and Donny. If my sister, Lori, was able to make it, we would have had four. :))) We had so much fun. The house was spotless, thanks to Sadie Bug helping me. Hubby cooked the great food and my Nanny brought over her yummy red velvet cake, she makes the best. Hubby is an awesome cook on the grill and in the kitchen too.
We had fun visiting with each other. We got to spend some fun time with Hubby's side last weekend. It's nice to be able to spend time with family.
For all of you who may not know where St. Patrick's Day originated from, here is a link about St. Patrick himself:

Not your ordinary day at the library...
...it was an AWESOME day at the library!!!
Sadie Bug and I had this day planned for about three weeks and it finally got here. My Mom came over this a.m. to keep Brynlea and we were off to the library to get down and dirty with some paint. Yes, they were offering a painting session on canvas for $5 dollars and we signed up in advance, saved our slots so we could bring out our inner creative beasts, and that we did.
Not only did we have a fun time together, it was relaxing and we met several other people, all ladies. We were chatting it up the whole time and getting creative. We had a model Celtic cross to go by, but nobody's looked the same. We all put our own creative spin on it. I LOVED Sadie's cross and she loved mine. The funny thing is we liked each other's better than we liked our own.
Who knew the library could be even more fun than just books?!? We are definitely going to go back and do another painting session. We had so much fun...and the relaxation....and how therapeutic...WOW!!!

What Not to Wear...
I'm one of those that will re-wear an outfit that I've worn a day or two before and I'm sure I'm not the only one that does this, I'm sure....whether you admit it or not. Ha!!! While I'm at it, I'll just tell you that I don't wash my hair every day either. I wash my my hair about 2 to 3 times a week, if I'm lucky ;)
The other night we celebrated our friends birthday dinner at a Mexican restaurant. When we walked in there and gave her a hug, she told me how good I smelled. I had Candy, Baby lotion on from Victoria's Secret. It does smell pretty good, if I do say so myself. ;) I have put on a few pounds so I did the layered look with this cute outfit and felt pretty good about myself...I did up my face with my makeup just right, had my boots on and matching jewelry to boot (pretty punny huh?!?)
So I had to go to the eye doctor with our oldest kiddo, Sadie Bug, and decided to recreate "the look." I got dressed put on the same outfit, jewelry, boots, makeup...etc..., but noticed my outfit did NOT smell like Candy, Baby! It smelled like I was a walking fajita or even worse a dirty armpit. So what did I do??? I thought if I added my Candy, Baby! and rubbed it all over my clothes and a little in my hair, I'd be good to go.
We were rushing out the door, as always and I didn't notice the nicely scented, dirty armpit smell until we opened the door to the Dr.'s office. Here I was feeling confident because I thought that my lotion masked the stench, but it didn't...it's pleasant odor was in effect long enough for the 3 minute drive and then I sat there the rest of the time wondering if the Dr. thought the smell was MY underarms or not. It was even in my hair. Every time I turned my head the strong smell nearly knocked me out.
I felt like I had to explain what the stench was everywhere I went....however I didn't. I pretended not to notice. You know like when you sneeze and you accidentally pass gas at the same time and you just clear your throat and hope no one notices and you look straight ahead like you are oblivious. Oh come on, you know you've done THAT one too.
Well, lesson learned. I now know WHAT NOT TO WEAR. Oh and I guess I will be washing my hair after every time of eating at a Mexican restaurant.

~ Hello Monday ~
This Monday started off with a bang or I guess I should say loud annoying music. This music was set to go off every minute, 5 times from a little rectangular shaped device called my cell phone. My night owl till early a.m. Hubby decided that it was appropriate to set my alarm 5 times so that I would wake up and take our middle child, Lulee, to school. This is something he normally does on his way to work and I stay home with Brynlea, our two year old.
We went out last night to celebrate one of our best friend's 40th B-day party. We didn't stay late, however someone who is not supposed to eat sugar (moi) decided not only to carb it up with Mexican food, but then dig in to the butter cream frosted cake that was calling my name sooooo loud. It was so loud I ended up having two pieces and one was a corner piece. So the reason I'm telling you this is I was pretty much comatosed this a.m. when those 5 alarms went off in my ear. I thought something was wrong with my phone. I kept sliding dismiss into the magic circle so it would SHUT UP!!! Then another one would come....I just about broke my smart (ahem) phone!!!
I asked Hubby what is wrong with my phone, it keeps going off. He sleepily and inaudibly admitted to setting the alarms so I could take Lulee to school. I think if he had told me he needed me to take her and set the alarm once that would've been good. I don't know who or what I resent more right now, my phone or my Hubby. I don't even want to look at my phone. I was at least able to give hubby a kiss before he headed out to go to work. ;)
Thank God Lulee is 5 and not 15 or she would have hated me this morning. We were pressed for time as I found out that the reason Hubby stayed up so late is he was working on our "new to us" van. Stayed up until 4...Ugggh...he's in for a long day. I guess I should go ahead and do a crock pot din din for us tonight. Anywho, I had to take my 16 year old Sadie Bug's car to drive Lulee to school and I had jammies on thinking that I was going to make the car rider line......WRONG.....DARN TRAFFIC!!!
So I ended up in the "where the crud should we all park? We are all about to be late!!!" parking lot jam. I was like, forget this looking for a place to park. I'm just going to park on the side in the back and park illegally for the moment with the car parked sideways through three spaces....I was counting down the seconds. We jetted out of the car, I guided her through the mob of "soon-to-be-late" kiddos and parents by her hoodie and there we found ourselves at the top of the steps with the door held open for us....no time to spare. I heard the church bells ring and the sun shone down on us and they were saying "HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH..."
Ok, maybe that was in my mind. It really went down like this....we reached the top of the steps, I told her "run, you're gonna make it on time, I love you!!!" Then I had a conversation with this stranger about how odd I must look in my jammies (Hubby's pants). As I was running off to the car I mentioned that I was having a hard time keeping my hubby's pants up and to have a great day!!! Haha!!! As if I had to mention I was having problems keeping my pants up....I kept grabbing those suckers and pulling them up.
You all have a GREAT MONDAY!!!
